ANNIE ROMANO
Representing Precinct 5 on the Salt Lake City School Board
Meet Annie
Annie Stevens Romano is a Salt Lake native and proud product of the Salt Lake City School District as a fourth generation East High School graduate! Following her college (BA) and graduate education (MPA), Annie worked in K-12 education in both public and public charter schools. Still, the majority of her career has been spent in higher education at Brigham Young University, the Florence Institute of Design, Cornell University, and the University of Utah.
In September 2025 Annie was appointed as the Precinct 5 board member for the Salt Lake City School Board. She is a part of the 9th and 9th community; and the mother to 7- and 8-year-old boys, who are current students in the Salt Lake City School District.
Likes: inclusion, Diet Dr. Pepper, thrifting, K-dramas, pistachio gelato, equal rights for all people
Dislikes: exclusion,
mayonnaise, big chain stores, hateful rhetoric, prejudice of any kind

Prioritize psychological and physical safety for every student, educator, and member of the community in Salt Lake City public schools.
Academic Excellence
Foster learning and growth for every student (based on their individual needs), focusing especially on early education and literacy.
Stewardship
Manage public funds with fiscal responsibility and long-term strategy; and continue sustainability measures to steward natural resources.
